Chocolate Cake
- 2 tbsp. butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 can (1 lb.) apricot halves, drained
- 6 strawberries
- 1/3 cup butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa (hershey’s)
- Dash of cinnamon
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¾ cup sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ tsp. vanilla
Procedure:
- Melt butter in frying pan.
- Add brown sugar, then arrange the apricot halves all over the bottom of pan
- Set aside.
- Prepare cake. Cream the 1/3 cup butter, sugar, cocoa and cinnamon.
- Add eggs and whip the mixture vigorously.
- Then add the flour and baking soda, sifted together, alternately with the milk.
- Add vanilla and pour batter into the pan.
- Bake in oven 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Top with strawberries.
