Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:chocolate cake

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 can (1 lb.) apricot halves, drained

  • 6 strawberries
  • 1/3 cup butter

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup cocoa (hershey’s)

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • ¾  cup sifted cake flour

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • ¾  cup milk

  • ½  tsp. vanilla

Procedure:

  1. Melt butter in frying pan.

  2. Add brown sugar, then arrange the apricot halves all over the bottom of pan
  3. Set aside.  

  4. Prepare cake.  Cream the 1/3 cup butter, sugar, cocoa and cinnamon.

  5. Add eggs and whip the mixture vigorously.

  6. Then add the flour and baking soda, sifted together, alternately with the milk.

  7. Add vanilla and pour batter into the pan.
  8. Bake in oven 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
  9. Top with strawberries.
